Video Guidelines for your Virtual Athletic Assessment

For your virtual Athletic Assessment, you'll record a series of short videos of your dog performing stationary positions and movement exercises. These videos will be reviewed together during your appointment.

General Recording Tips

  • Use a tripod whenever possible to keep the camera steady and your hands free.

  • Choose a well-lit, low-distraction area with enough space for your dog to move comfortably.

  • Use a safe, non-slip surface whenever possible.

  • Keep your dog's entire body in frame, including their feet, for the duration of each exercise.

  • Use food, toys, praise, or other rewards as needed to keep your dog engaged.

  • Keep treats small and appropriate for your dog.

  • Record short clips rather than one long video. Please don't edit, speed up, or add filters.

  • Take a quick test video first to make sure your dog is clearly visible and the camera is positioned appropriately.

  • Your dog does not need to perform perfectly. The goal is to observe your dog's natural movement and abilities, not test their obedience.

If your dog needs a break, take one. A distracted or less-than-perfect session is completely okay.

Video Format & Sharing

Please record all videos in landscape (horizontal) orientation.

Once your videos are recorded, upload them to YouTube or another video-sharing service and provide the links before your virtual appointment. You may set your videos to Unlisted or Private, as long as the sharing settings allow Pawsio to view them using the link provided.

Please check each link before sending it to make sure the video can be viewed without requesting additional access. Do not send video files directly to Pawsio by email or other file-transfer methods. Video files can be large, so uploading them to a video-sharing service keeps the process easier for everyone.
